William J. Eberle, 84, of Wappingers Falls, NY, died Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Vassar Hospital, in Poughkeepsie. A local resident since 1962, Bill was born in Albany, NY, to the late Willian A. and Veronica Cranney Eberle. He was a graduate of the St. James School, Vincentian Institute, HVTI, and Milwaukee School of Engineering. He was at 31-year employee of IBM, working at both the Poughkeepsie and East Fishkill sites.

Bill was a ham radio operator, K2EJX, since 1953, having built his own transmitter at age 15. He was an avid gardener, raising enough vegetables in the summer to last all winter. He also planted fruit and nut trees.

His most enjoyable hobby was being a DJ at radio station WVKR, Vassar College Radio. For almost 30 years, he rebroadcast the radio shows from the golden age of radio. In addition, he broadcast classic country music. He took his family to see any country performers that were appearing in the area and made several trips to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
