Vincent J. Tancredi, 88 of Hyde Park, NY passed away on March 17, 2020 at home. He was born on November 15, 1931 the son of Nicholas & Frances Giunta Tancredi. Vincent was a graduate of Arlington High School Class of 1949. Following graduation he entered in the U.S. Air Force in and served from 1950-54. While serving he was stationed in Korea as an Air Policeman from 1951-52 during the Korean War.
Vincent was employed at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY as a Payroll Clerk for 35 years. He retired in 1990 after 35 years of service. His loving companion of 32 years, Janet O. Jackson predeceased him on May 27, 2012.
He was a past member of O.H. Booth Hose Fife & Drum Corp. for 25 years where he played the Fife. Vincent Enjoyed tailgating at West Point football games with his IBM friends: Tony Perrotta, Tony DiMaso, Lynn Decerbo and Jay Mauer. He enjoyed going to Mohegan Sun, Las Vegas and was a faithful NY Jets and Mets fan. Many thanks to Kevin & David Jackson for keeping me a part of their family. The family would like to acknowledge the following for taking such good care of Vincent: Dr. Cho and his staff as well as the Dyson Center and their staff.
Vincent is survived by his daughter: Theresa "Terry" (Hugh) West of Poughkeepsie, NY; son: Vincent N. (Carmen) Tancredi of Elk Grove, CA. daughter: Tina Tancredi of Poughkeepsie, NY and Michele Pearson of San Antonio, TX. There is a brother: Gus (Kathy) Tancredi of Dover Plains, NY and a sister: Diana Gallante of Poughkeepsie, NY. There are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorial Donations may be to Crohn's Research, 733 Third Ave., Ste. 510, New York, NY 10017 or Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

We are so very sorrow for the loss of your dad Vinny. He was a very pleasant man, that liked to smile and chat. I would walk by with my dog and he'd be sitting in his chair in the driveway and I'd stop and chat for awhile (sometimes too long). Mary A Raymo-Connor and MIke Connors

So sorry to hear of Vinnie’s passing. Although I only spoke to him a few times each year, he and Jan had special places in my heart.

Vinnie was my neighbor and friend. Vinnie’s humor and kindness to all will be missed. Always pleasant, I will miss saying hello and chatting with him while working in my yard. My sincere condolences to all of Vinnie’s family and to his friends. God bless you all during this sad time.
