Richard A. Nicodemus, 88, of Wappinger Falls, NY passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Vassar Brother’s Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was born on January 19, 1934, in Kakinada, India, the son of Hezekiah and Grace Devanadam Nicodemus. Richard married the love of his life, Kathleen Greene, on September 10, 1998 in New Paltz, NY. He was actively involved in the Poughkeepsie Methodist Church, always helping out wherever he could. Richard loved to bowl, and it was during his time bowling that he met his wife, Kathleen. He was the ultimate people person; you couldn’t help but love him. Richard was incredibly smart, and he was in the process of writing a book. He was a kind, gentle, loving man. A true gentleman. Richard was a fantastic, loving husband and will be missed immensely. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Greene-Nicodemus of Wappinger Falls, NY, his step-son Arthur Tumbleson of California and his daughters Kani Nicodemus of Florida and Indrani (Paul) Rivera of New York City. Also surviving are his 3 sisters, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral service was held on January 25, 2023 in the Community Mausoleum Chapel at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Entombment followed at the family crypt. The family would like to thank Hudson Valley Hospice for the wonderful care given to Richard, the Poughkeepsie Methodist church for all of the delicious food and support given to Richard and especially Pastor Jody Spiak for all of the time spent and support given to Richard.
