Marjorie R. Heck, 83, of the Town of Hyde Park passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s hospital on June 9th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (Gigi), great-great grandmother and homemaker.
Marge was born on August 17th, 1938, in Patterson NJ. The daughter of Joseph & Marjorie Albrecht. She was a 1957 graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. She was an amazing tap dancer and ballroom dancer as a young adult. She worked at Western Printing as an artist drawing cartoons, until she got married and became a homemaker. Marge married the love of her life, John E Heck on May 2nd, 1959. She became a wife and a mother of John’s two sons on that day. Her and John had 4 children of their own, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
She moved to Hyde Park NY in 1963 and remained a local resident until her passing. She was previously a member of the ladies Auxiliary for the Roosevelt Fire Co #3 in Hyde Park NY. She also used to be in a bowling League. Her and John would play cards every weekend with groups of couples. Marge loved to travel. Her and her family would travel every summer to either Wildwood NJ, Myrtle Beach SC, and sometimes Florida. She extended her travels with her husband and some friends to different locations as well. Marge had many friends over the years, many of whom have passed on, but she made a lifetime of memories with them and was a wonderful friend to many.
Marge is survived by her beloved children and their spouses: John Heck Jr of Poughkeepsie NY, Edward (Beth) Heck of Winterhaven Fl, Karen (Bill) Stark of Hillsdale NY, JoAnn (Richard) Schweitzer of Wallkill NY, & Jeffrey Heck of Poughkeepsie NY. 12 Grandchildren: Michael, Christopher and Lindsay Heck, Angela Michelle (Jason) Dubose, Lance Glenn, Randy and Jim Morano, Brian Elliott, Jaclyn and Jeffrey Farmer, Rachel and Austin Heck and Derrick Stark. Great Grandchildren, Aaron Heck, Jason Dubose, Aiden Adkins, Lyla, Alex and Taylor Lewis, Abigail, Gabriel and Gianna Morano, Bailey and Hunter Rowe, Vanessa and Maria Dickson, Evangeline Norway-Glenn, Dakota Stark, and great-great grandchild Jaxson Cole Dubose. Her brother Richard (Elizabeth) Albrecht of Lagrangeville NY, as well as several nieces and nephews: Charlene and Craig Wendell, and Erica and Elke Albrecht.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband John E Heck and their daughter Sharon Lynn Heck, both of her parents Joseph and Marjorie Albrecht as well as her brother Charles Wendell.
Not to be forgotten are the neighbors that she considered family: Chris and Nancy Corman and their three boys Devon, Kyle, and Dominick. Along with Mark and Patty Kaiser.
Visitation will take place at the Wm G. Miller & Son FH, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 on Thursday June 16th, from 4PM-8PM. Services will be Friday morning June 17th at 10am in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the family plot at Union Cemetery in Hyde Park. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc.
