Louise Marie Hogan went home to Jesus on Friday, May 12, 2023. She will be dearly missed by many. Born October 25, 1934, she was the daughter of Peter and Angelina Cavaliere, now deceased. She had one sibling, Peter Cavaliere (Lena), both deceased. She graduated from Dominican Commercial High School., NY, in 1952. Later in life Louise used the training as a faithful employee of the Catholic Diocese of NY in the marriage tribunal office for 15 years. On June 16, 1956 she married her lifelong sweetheart Patrick Hogan, now deceased, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Woodhaven, NY. For 58 years they lived out their sacrament of marriage, mostly in Poughkeepsie NY, and centered their lives around St. Martin de Porres, her home parish. They were also active in the communities of Cursillo and Marriage Encounter. Louise lived the last 3 years at St. Mary’s Woods in Richmond where she built strong friendships. She was known to pray constantly at times and was always the source of comfort to anyone who needed it. Louise and Pat raised four children: Kevin (Adria), Brian (Patricia), Marguerite and Christine (John Meluch). Louise cherished all of her children, but the joys of the later years of her life were her 10 grandchildren; Nick (Emily), Chris (Jillian) both of Richmond, VA; Kate, Sean and Connor, of Goose Creek, SC, Anthony and Olivia Adams of Richmond, VA and Andrew (Bryan) of Arlington, VA, Tyler (Erin) Meluch of north Andover, MA & Emily Meluch of Richmond, VA. She also adored her great-grandchildren, Ben, Ellie and Natalie, all of Richmond, VA. The family would like to thank the medical community of St. Mary’s Hospital and Our Lady of Hope for their many kindnesses to Louise. The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023 at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Dr., Richmond VA. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 12 Noon. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023 at St. Martin de Porres Parish, 118 Cedar Valley Rd., Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 62 LaGrange Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
