Laurence B. “Yogi” Kleidman of New Paltz, New York, quietly and peacefully passed away on December 28, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones. Son of Leonard Kleidman and Barbara Golding Kleidman, he is survived by his brother Carl, sister-in-law Lorna, sister-in-law Karen (wife of Paul who left us too soon in 2006), nieces Jamie, Lindsey, and Kelsey, great-niece Parker Bergstein, and girlfriend Bridget Marbury, as well as many cousins and friends.
Born September 29, 1961, Yogi was an outdoor enthusiast with a great love of hiking and biking. He was an accomplished long distance hiker, having tackled many notable trails such as the Appalachian Trail, the El Camino and the Pacific Crest.
Yogi was an avid Deadhead, having seen them in concert over 100 times. He was a lover of good music and good food.
Yogi was a graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a degree in psychology and held an MBA from Baruch College. Yogi worked for many years at Angelo Gordon where he was a beloved member of their tax department.
Although single most of his life, Yogi met the love of his life, Bridget Marbury, at a late age, and spent the last few years of his life in a happy, loving relationship. Bridget was at his side until the end.
Yogi was one of a kind and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him and loved him.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 31, at 11:00 at Beth-El Cemetery, Route 44, Poughkeepsie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sierra Club or any other charity that protects the great outdoors which he so cherished.
