Joseph G. LeClair, Sr., 89, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born on June 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jeannette Minard LeClair. Joseph was employed by A.C. Dutton Lumber Company in Poughkeepsie, NY as a supervisor, retiring in 1994. He was also a member of B.P.O.E. # 275 and the Fairview Fire Company and served in the United States Army Reserves. Joseph is survived by his companion, Christine A. LeClair, daughter Joanne LeClair of Poughkeepsie, NY and step-daughters, Danyel Northup and Dawn Feller, both of Hudson, NY; Grandchildren Helen Jo Sample, Elizabeth Miller, Julia Kasmar; Great-Grandchildren John and Patrick Sample and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Joseph G. LeClair, Jr., his daughter Helen M. Miller, two brothers, Adrian LeClair and Walter LeClair and three sisters, Luella Heffernan, Beverly Morano, and Jeanette LeClair. Joseph enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and in his younger years, golfing. He will always be remembered as a very sociable individual. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, at the Wm. G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A service will be offered during the calling hours at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Joseph's name to the ASPCA of Dutchess County, 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
