On October 9, 1975 God blessed us with the greatest gift that we would ever receive. On that day I gave birth to our son, James Daniel Weston. On April 18, 2022 God brought Jimmy back to Him for eternal peace and reuniting him with his proud "Pop," Daniel Edwin Weston and his loving grandparents Helen E. and James A. Lillis. As his mom, Joan Marie Weston "née" Lillis, I will feel his loss for the rest of the life God grants me until it's time for me to be reunited with them all again.
Jimmy was blessed with so many friends in his brief 46 years. Especially close are three sons of our hearts, Brian Walsh, Mark Weir and Billy Briehoff. They, like so many of our friends, we consider to be our family.
Jim had fun growing up racing his go-cart up and down our "S" curved driveway, the beginning of his enthusiasm for cars. To this day his pride and joy is his 1993 Toyota Supra, which he rebuilt inside and out. He liked to fly RC planes with his dad, fishing with his grandpa, especially on opening day when he got to skip a day of school. He was an altar boy, Boy Scout and recipient of the Yamaha Music School gold medal for organ playing.
Jimmy was a graduate of Arlington High School and a life long resident of Lagrange. He worked for Sound on Wheels and Circuit City as an audio installation manager in Poughkeepsie as well as Danbury, CT, often traveling to new locations to set up "sound rooms." Upon his father's passing, he took on the responsibility as manager of RC World Hobby Shop in Pleasant Valley, NY.
Jim had a passion for gourmet cooking which presented a fun challenge between us. This was a win win situation for both of us as he enjoyed the cooking and I reaped the benefits of a delicious meal. The "R2D2" air fryer that he bought kept us laughing with each new recipe of beef jerky and queso that he concocted.
When Jimmy broke his neck not only once but twice, life became very challenging for him. He rehabilitated at Helen Hayes Hospital for almost an entire year after being paralyzed from his neck down. He was a fighter and never gave up and was able to gain most of his mobility back. Unfortunately, Jimmy suffered immense pain for the rest of his life. He aspired to be just like his dad which gave him the fight to keep going. There was nothing those two couldn't accomplish together.
My son and I bonded even more so, if that was possible, after Dan passed suddenly. We would work in the garden, go on mini trips, but most importantly we merged our friends together to become one big happy family.
I have received so many sympathy calls and countless offers of help that words alone cannot begin to express my gratitude. Thank you and God Bless you all.
