Obituary

Harriet Kabalamaga age 40 of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away on September 25, 2020. She was born in Uganda, Africa and came to America at 9 years old, where she overcame a lot of obstacles in her journey. Harriet graduated Poughkeepsie High School in 1999, while attending she had her daughter Jornai Mwesigwa. Harriet dedicated a lot of her life to Jornai which motivated her to work countless hours as a Certified Nurse’s Aide to support herself and her daughter, not only was she dedicated and devoted to her daughter but to all those she considered friends and family. As a single mother she never lost sight of her goals, she supported her daughter through college and had the privilege of seeing her daughter graduate and move out on her own to another state. To know Harriet was a privilege, to have her love around you was an honor because her love was genuine. Harriet was predeceased by her grandmother Edith Nabunya, her grandfather Dr. Abyuba Tinkasimire and her cousin Richard all of Uganda Africa. She is survived by her daughter Jornai Mwesigwa, her father Danpats Mwesigwa of Washington D.C. her mother Eva Kyomunkuha of Uganda, her sister Esther Birungi of Nirobi Kenya, 3 step sisters all of Uganda her sisters Elasha Jones and Nika Lynch of New York, her Spiritual Mother Bobbie Dash of New York, her fiancé Kevin Martin and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Nieces, (she had two nieces that she had tight bonds with, Praise Birungi of Nirobi Kenya and Joan Nakakande of Michigan), close friends Annie Baugh of Poughkeepsie NY and Bob and Fran Beattie.
