Mr. Chisamore was my 5th grade teacher over 20 years ago. He left an enduring impact on me, and really ignited a passion for learning. He was a wonderful person, and a truly special teacher. My sincerest condolences. Thank you Mr. C!

Donald was a loving active brother who was interested in doing lots of things including various sports like ice skating in our cold winters up north, baseball where he was an excellent left handed pitcher, and golf that became his lifetime pursuit. Wherever there was activity, Don was in the middle of it all.

As my older brother, Don shared with me his new skills from Boy Scouts which made it easier for me to get involved. He saw to it that everyone got to participate, which are most likely the roots of his successful teaching career. His friendliness helped all to succeed.

Don started high school at age 16. His two favorite things were Spanish and band where he played trombone. My son followed in his footsteps by playing trombone also. In 1954, our older brother Doug graduated and went into the military while we were in high school. He left his car behind providing Don and I with many hours of fun driving around. We drove faster than we let our parents know. We were excited to be the first ones to have a car among our friends. Many decades later, I saw a restored model of this car on a trip to Canada. It was a deja vu experience.

Don enjoyed life, found good in everyone, and always had a friendly demeanor. I will miss him and his wonderful stories. He was a great family historian and loving family man.

Mr Chisamore was a wonderful man. He was my 5th grade teacher, so many years ago. He truly cared about everyone of his students. I don't have as many detailed memories of my other years in school as I do with my year with him. He made a shy 5th grader, more out going and helped me to grow into the person I am today. Thank you Mr. C.
