POUGHKEEPSIE – DEBRA ANN “DEBBIE” HOFFNAGLE, 62, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Friday February 1st after a short, courageous battle with cancer at Vassar Brothers Medical Centre surrounded by her family.

Debbie was born on December 17th 1956 to Mary Spina and Rocco Gallo. She graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and worked at Karl Ehmers Bakery. She married her soul mate Keith Hoffnagle on March 16th 1975 and has shared her life with him for 43 years. They had two beautiful children, Keith Jr and Amy Lynn. Debbie worked together with Keith to establish and run as co-owners the K & D Deli chain for 37 years.
Her passions were her family, friends and music. A loving wife, mother, daughter, Nonni to her five grandchildren, sister, sister-in-law and aunt, she cherished and cared for them all. They worked together, travelled together and loved enormously.

She spent many happy hours creating songs from the heart and enjoyed traveling with Keith to Nashville to have these songs professionally produced. Many of these trips coincided with stocking crafts for her gift shops.

Debbie loved going to Mike Ortega’s Fitness Center - “keep my spot!”

Debbie is survived by her loving husband Keith, son Keith Jr and Kimberley Messick, daughter Amy Lynn Hall and husband Jason, grandchildren Briana, Olivia, Joie, Jason Jr “LJ” and Harper; sisters Mary, Rose, Concetta and Mia, brother Rocco. Pre-deceased by grandparents Rosario and Concetta Spina, step-father Rocky Gerbo, brothers John and Dominick.

Calling hours will be held at Wm. G. Miller and Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, from 4 – 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Entrance at 99 Inwood Avenue, on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 10:00AM. Entombment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery Mausoleum, Poughkeepsie, NY. If you wish to send an online condolence please visit our website at
