Debbie was born into a large, loving, and boisterous Irish family, as her mother was one of 17 children. In 1970, she received her degree in nursing from Bronx Community College making her the first college graduate in her family. This started her journey of healing and helping others. Throughout her 51 ½ year career as a nurse, she worked in many specialities including but not limited to hospice care and psychiatric nursing. Her first position was at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, NYC in the Neurosurgical Stepdown Unit. Debbie often said she witnessed more there in a year than most people see in a lifetime. These experiences only served to cultivate Debbie’s love of life and her ability to see the best in everything around her. Debbie’s first joy is her family and friends, which is evidenced to all by her loving, kind, selfless and joyous nature. She was proud to have raised her daughters, and additionally raised four boys - Tim, Dan, Joe, and Bryan. Her five grandchildren are the light of her life. Debbie is a true angel whose spirit leaves people feeling blessed and honored to know her. Debbie recognized and created joy in everything around her, and she exuded that joy to all who crossed her path. Her abundant and infectious smile and laughter are her legacy. She always made every moment memorable with everyone she touched through her enormous presence. Debbie’s calling is as a healer. Her true therapeutic expression is her mindful spiritual practice. She taught globally throughout the world as a teacher and therapeutic healer. Debbie’s healing practices include medical Qi-Gong, therapeutic touch, integrative therapy, and much more.
